Campbell River Fire Crews are asking residents to obey the rules when it comes to beach fires and other burning.
Deputy Chief Thomas Doherty says they’ve had almost two dozen calls since the campfire ban came into effect.
Doherty says crews have also responded to two fires caused by discarded cigarettes.
He says it’s important that smokers properly dispose of cigarette butts.
