The City is considering allowing medical marijuana production in Campbell River.
City development services supervisor Kevin Brooks says this week, council gave first and second reading to the zoning amendment bylaw that would allow medical marijuana operations that are legal through Health Canada and the federal government to be in industrial areas, similar to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
There will be a public hearing next council meeting to gather community input for the new zoning.
Brooks says after the public hearing, they will listen to any comments that the public has, and integrate them into the bylaw.
