Remedial action approved for five Campbell River properties

City council has approved remedial action to clean-up 5 properties.

The properties are in violation of the Public Nuisance Bylaw.

City Clerk Peter Wipper says three properties involve hedges that have overgrown into intersections or sidewalks and two have garbage that needs to be cleaned up.

“This resolution that council passed would give the city the authority to hire contractors to do the work if the residents don’t follow through, but usually the work gets completed. This just helps the work move along.”

Wipper says the owners have 30 days to complete the clean-up. If the city has to do the work, the cost is billed to the owner.
