BC’s New Transportation Minister Is Ready To Make A Difference

BC’s new Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure is excited to take on her new portfolio.

North Island MLA Claire Trevena was sworn in at Government House last Tuesday.

Trevena notes she’s excited to get to work and begin working with the organizations that comprise British Columbia’s many transportation networks.

“This is an opportunity to meet with many people, whether it’s the people who build our roads, run our buses, people who make sure our maintenance goes well.”

“There’s a huge amount of diversity in this portfolio and I’m looking forward to getting to grips with it.”

Trevena states one of those organizations is BC Ferries, where she’s looking to effect some big change.

“It was one of our platform commitments to freeze the fares from the Lower Mainland to the Island and ensure a reduction on all other routes.”

“This is one of our priorities.”
