Island Health’s move to improve leadership in different geographic areas of the island has proven successful so far.
President and C-E-O Brendan Carr provided an update on the initiative at Island Health’s recent Board meeting in Courtenay.
He says there are a number of benefits to including a geographic component to leadership, including a closer connection to the community.
Carr says having leaders in the community with decision-making ability also ensures resources are used in ways that really meet the unique needs of individual areas.
