Council backtracks now wants a report on options for the viewing platform in Dick Murphy Park

Campbell River City Council has decided to take a step back, earlier they had approved up to $50,000 to fund any rebuild needed at the viewing platform in Dick Murphy park, but not anymore.

City staff have now been asked to create a report on the cost of renovating, rebuilding or removing the platform.

Councillor Andy Adams says he recently visited the park and the Tyee Club’s new docks.

Councillor Larry Samson advocated the idea of creating a wheel chair accessible viewing platform.

Samson added he would be against tearing it down.
