Neighbors helped ensure a car fire did not spread to a house

Neighbors helped prevent a fire that started in a car from spreading to a house on Kit Crescent, Wednesday afternoon.

Campbell River Fire Chief Ian Baikie says nobody was hurt in the fire.

As for the cause of the fire.

Baikie says when they arrived on scene neighbors were using hoses to wet down the house, and he has this reminder for people.

Baikie says the car was badly damaged.
