A man has survived a cougar attack on the West Coast of the Island near Kyuquot Sound with minor injuries.
Sergeant Mike Newton from the Conservation Officer Service says a lone male kayaker was attacked on a beach in Rugged Point Marine Park late Thursday afternoon.
Newton says the kayaker got help from a boat in the area.
Newton says Rugged Point Park has been closed by BC Parks for the time being.
