Campbell River RCMP responded to an assault on Ducan Bay Road.
Last week, a male struck a victim a number of times over a property dispute then fled the scene.
Constable Sara Clark says witnesses in the area ran to the victim’s aid and contacted 911.
Clark says the victim was brought to hospital for his numerous injuries, and the suspect remains in custody with the case before the courts.
