Review on I-Health

A provincial patient safety and quality officer for British Columbia and chair of the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council has been contracted by the province to lead a review of the I-Health system.
The electronic medical record system is being piloted at health facilities in Nanaimo.
Dr. Doug Cochrane will assess and make recommendations to address any workflow and patient-care quality concerns as they have been identified by the health care providers who are trying to work with the new electronic records system.
Health Minister Terry Lake says this particular system has a good reputation.
There was a call earlier this week by the users of the system and the BC NDP to suspend I-Health and get an independent third party review done before someone dies as a result of the electronic system.
