Teachers approve the deal – schools open Monday

The extended summer public school kids have been enjoying is over, schools here in Campbell River and across the province will be starting up again Monday as teachers have voted to ratify their agreement with the Province.

At a press conference late Thursday evening BC Teachers’ Federation president Jim Iker confirmed 86% of BC teachers voted in favor of ratification and he says this deal means more specialist teachers, a wage increase and fair pay for substitute teachers.

A school district 72 statement says all school opening details will be on the district website by the end of Friday.
