National Tree Day in Campbell River

National Tree Day and National Forestry Week is in full swing in Campbell River.
Yesterday afternoon, members of the Forestry Task Force, city councillors, and staff were at the splash park in Willow Point to plant a red horse chestnut tree.
Councillor Charlie Cornfield says Campbell River is a forest dependent community.
Cornfield says forestry keeps people employed, it keeps their families in the community and it’s ingrained in our culture.
