Fire Prevention Week

The Campbell River Fire Department is urging residents to check their smoke alarms.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week is focused on having everyone ensure their smoke alarms are up to date and working.

Deputy Fire Chief Chris Vrabel says smoke alarms are to be replaced after ten years of the manufacturing date.

Vrabel says their program is focused on grade three students in hopes that the children will bring their pamphlets home to their families and talk about fire safety with them.

Fire Prevention Week runs from October 9 to the 15.
