BC Hydro is advising people to stay away from the Elk Falls Canyon for the next week or so.
Spokesperson Stephen Watson says the reservoir is close to full, so Hydro has started spilling water down Elk Falls Canyon. Watson notes the suspension bridge is a much safer option if you want to check out the view at Elk Falls in Campbell River.
Watson says the flows have been increased to 40 cubic metres per second and could go up to 100 cubic metres per second by the weekend.
