Campbell River City Council has approved dividing the upgrades to the Big Rock boat ramp into two phases. Both phases of the project, which includes a ramp replacement, relocating breakwaters and a fish cleaning station, are expected to cost $1.1 million.
City Manager Deborah Sargent says construction will be going on during boating season.
The first phase of the project will focus on in-water work, while the second will focus on the parking lot, lighting in the area and washrooms.
