A few hundred Campbell Riverites were out Friday night to hear from the candidates running for the six local city council seats.
Each of the 17 candidates had a few minutes to introduce themselves and highlight their main concerns for Campbell River. Hot topics were taxation, services, and job creation.
Members of the audience asked questions, those included some on environmental protection, if candidates would support the completion of the Robron sports complex and about the creation of a seniors center.
A audience member asked how each of the candidates would handle working with the mayor, he said he was fed up with the lack of support the current city council had for the elected mayor. Most of the city council candidates expressed their hope to work as a team with any elected mayor.
