Local MP John Duncan reacts to Wednesday’s shootings in Ottawa

The country is still reacting to the shootings that took place at the War Memorial and Parliament building Yesterday in Ottawa. That saw Canadian Forces reservist Nathan Cirillo shot dead while he was on guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

North Island MP John Duncan was in the Parliament building when several shots were fired off, he describes the scene.

Duncan adds the country needs to come together heal.

An emotional morning on the Hill as the Sergeant at Arms, Kevin, Vickers, was given a standing ovation as he lead a ceremonial parade into the Hours of Commons.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper also crossed the floor to embrace NDP leader Thomas Mulcair and Liberal leader Justin Trudeau.
