It was a photo finish in the mayoral race here in Campbell River with Andy Adams winning with 4370 votes over current mayor Walter Jakeway who got 4249 votes.
We caught up with Andy Adams just after he got the news of his win and asked how he was feeling.
Meanwhile Walter Jakeway says he is fine with the way things turned out.
We asked Andy Adams what his plan is when he takes over the mayors seat.
There were just over 100 votes between Andy Adams and the current Mayor Walter Jakeway.
Jakeway says he is now planning to go back into retirement and will probably head up building the next habitat for humanity house.
The six councillors elected are Charlie Cornfield, Michele Babchuk, Larry Samson, Ron Kerr, Marlene Wright and Colleen Evans.
