“Unprecedented uptake” for flu vaccine has supplies dwindling

Huge demand for the flu vaccine has seen supplies in our region, starting to run dry.

That from North Island Medical Health Officer Doctor Charmaine Enns, after we questioned her on the response to the public vaccination program for this flu season.

Doctor Enns says the flu bug hasn’t really kicked in yet in the region, but more and more cases are being reported.

Doctor Enns says more of the flu vaccine is now on order and should arrive in the next few weeks.
