Logging truck driver taken to hospital after his rig went off the road

On Thursday November 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm, Campbell River RCMP responded to a complaint of a logging truck that went off the Gold River Highway near Echo Lake.
BC Ambulance Service attended and transported the driver to Campbell River General Hospital with undetermined injuries, which at this time do not appear life threatening.
Campbell River RCMP general duty and traffic services members are currently on scene.
At this time the highway is open to single lane, alternating traffic and the highway may need to be closed down for periods of time while the tow truck and BC Hydro crews clean up the scene.
