Prep is underway for the 2017 Tribal Journeys canoe trip.
Heidi Ridgway says the event brings together a number of canoe families from up and down the Coast.
The journey wraps in Campbell River on August 5th.
Ridgway says they’re looking for volunteers to help with the welcoming ceremonies.
“They can give us a couple of hours to help do clean-up after dinner or spend a few hours bringing water to the Elders and veterans on the actual day of the landing,” she says.
Ridgway says it’s a historic opportunity to take part in this event that promotes reconciliation and togetherness.
