Rachel Blaney says she’s excited about the federal NDP’s new leader. The North Island-Powell River MP endorsed Jagmeet Singh, who won the leadership on the first ballot this past Sunday.
Blaney believes his tenure is off to a good start and she’s glad to be working with someone who is focused on inclusion, inspiration, and listening to the needs of Canadians. Blaney says his vision of Canada includes everyone and not just the wealthy and the well-connected.
Singh takes over as NDP leader from Tom Mulcair. He beat runner-up Charlie Angus by 30 points.
