Sea lion rescued in Campbell River

A California sea lion is getting treatment after he had to be rescued in Campbell River.

A Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre team saved the weak and emaciated animal from a Willow Point beach earlier this week.

It says the sea lion is probably three to four years old. It was dehydrated and was showing signs of pneumonia.

If you see a marine mammal you believe to be in distress you should stay away from and call the rescue centre at 604-258-SEAL (7325).
