Storm players named to VIJHL prospects game

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.- A number of Campbell River Storm players will be suiting up for an annual classic.

The VIJHL has announced the rosters for the 2018 Prospects Game.

Dawson Frank, Pearce Messer, Kyle Kaufmann, Brett Kinley, Jalen Price, Ryan Butler, Aidan Sutherland, Logan Cursley, and Timon Prexler will all suit up for the North division team. Alternate players Ethan Schmunk and Reid Lindsay were also named to the team.

Out of that group, Kyle Kaufmann leads with 32 points on the season. The forward has 10 goals and 22 assists.

He’s followed by Frank (31 pts.), rookies Messer (30 pts.), Butler (29 pts.), Price (29 pts.), and Kinley with 28 points.

“It’s a truly special experience for the players assembled from across the VIJHL who have the opportunity to showcase their skills before hundreds of the passionate hockey fans in Campbell River and the scouting staff in attendance,” said VIJHL President Barb Byrne.

The Storm are having a fantastic season, currently behind the Nanaimo Buccaneers for second place in the North division. Campbell River boasts a record of 23-6-2-0.

The coaching staff for the Prospects Game will be announced by Christmas.
