The City of Campbell River has made a few changes to its snow clearing policy. During snowy weather the city will be dedicating more effort to clearing sidewalks beside city property and spots with lots of pedestrian traffic.
This comes after the city added more money to the snow clearing budget during December’s financial planning sessions. The policy says those sidewalks will be cleared based on when it’s practical to do so and the equipment is available.
The city is responding to the results of a survey that went out in the fall that showed Campbell River residents supported a bigger budget to get vital sidewalks cleared of snow.
