No one hurt after boat runs aground

No one was hurt and no one was in distress after a boat ran aground in Campbell River.

The Coast Guard says a 28-foot Sea Ray power boat was found on the beach just over a kilometer south of Shelter Point on Saturday. Nobody was on board at the time.

The Coast Guard says there was a chance of pollution so they, along with the owner, had the boat removed. The owner told the Coast Guard he’d left the boat secured at the marina with the keys on board.

The keys were not on the vessel when it was found but the battery and lights had been turned on. The case has been turned over to the RCMP.
