Indigenous Voices coming to Campbell River

A Cree-Metis Elder will be introducing people to Metis culture in Campbell River next week.

Susan Landell will be speaking at the library as part of the Vancouver Island Regional Library’s Indigenous Voices initiative.

Landell was born in Montreal with her ancestors being from Great Slave Lake. She’s a Sun Dancer and a Pipe Carrier, and also sits on several Elder Advisory Boards in Campbell River.

VIRL says Indigenous Voices is part of its efforts to facilitate reconciliation by having Elders share stories and skills related to Indigenous culture and experiences.

Landell will be speaking next Thursday, February 1st from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Call the Campbell River Library at 250-287-3655 to register if you’d like to go.
