Rachel Blaney has a new role with the NDP.
Party leader Jagmeet Singh has named the North Island-Powell River MP Deputy Whip. Blaney says she’s honoured to be appointed as an Officer of the House:

The move comes as part of Singh updating his shadow cabinet to target growing economic inequality for the upcoming session of parliament. Singh says his “dynamic and passionate” senior team will be offering up tangible proposals to deal with that inequality that will “make a real difference in people’s lives.”
