It was a person from Campbell River who was killed in Sunday’s crash.
The RCMP has confirmed the victim was a 32-year-old woman. The crash happened around 2:40pm on Highway 19A near McGimpsey Road.
The RCMP says the woman lost control of her car which ended up hitting a pickup truck. She was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased upon arrival. There were two people in the truck who were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The RCMP says the woman was not wearing her seatbelt and that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
