City issues second “do not occupy” notice after mudslide

A second “do not occupy” notice has been issued in the wake of last week’s mudslide.

Heavy rains caused a slope on Park Road in Campbell River to give way on January 21^st causing severe damage to one home. Evacuation orders were originally issue for four homes in the area but have since been lifted for two of the properties.

The second “do not occupy” notice was issued for the home next to the one that was severely damaged in the mudslide. The city says the property owners will need to arrange for a professional assessment of what needs to be done to make the slope safe so they can return.
