Mayor talks downtown revitalization in first of monthly interviews

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.- The mayor says the city is working on a better downtown for Campbell River.

He says hundreds of millions of dollars is being invested in revitalizing the area, which has been a key strategic priority for years.

Adams says, however, there are vulnerable people in our community who need assistance who are creating issues for businesses around Spirit Square and the library. He says plans involve a full rebuild of the downtown in future years, but steps are being taken now to address the issues:

The mayor added one of the two RCMP officers will be focused on the downtown. Adams says the city is working with local agencies and partners to help those in need:

Mayor Adams discussed the issue with 2Day FM Tuesday morning during the first of a series of monthly interviews.  The interviews will be happening normally on the first Monday of every month at 9:00am.
