Work to begin on Jubilee Heights subdivision this week

CAMPBELL RIVER, BC- Work is set to begin on Campbell River’s latest neighbourhood development this week.

The Jubilee Heights subdivision is the latest zone that will open both residential and village/commercial opportunities in the region. The community was adopted by Campbell River council in 2011 and included in the city’s Official Community Plan (OCP).

Couverdon Real Estate has been working hard with the City, Highland Engineering, Mainstream Biological Consulting and other local community stewardship groups to design a walkable community that will serve as the hub providing amenities to the already established South Dogwood/Jubilee residential neighbourhood.

The Jubilee Heights area covers approx. 166 acres, with developments to be phased over 10 to 12 years. Phase One will be completed and sold this year. It will be residential and offer single family lots.

Construction starts Monday. It will involved clearing and preparation of land, as well as the immediate construction of a trail along the west side of South Dogwood Street.

Public access to the Jubilee Heights lands will be restricted during construction, for safety reasons. Signage will be posted in the area.

Phase One will be on site and away from surrounding neighbourhoods and traffics, according to a release from Couverdon Real Estate, which is the real estate business of TimberWest.

There may be some minimal traffic disturbances. During construction, commercial vehicles will access and exit the site at Erickson Road from time to time.
