Campbell River entering national competition

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-Campbell River is throwing its hat into the ring for the Smart Cities Challenge. The Canada-wide competition sees cities vying for a $10 million prize.

To qualify cities have to use data and connected technology to address local issues and livability. Those issues include things like improved communication, transportation and environmental protection.

The city says Campbell River’s application is going to be supported by community input. It’s asking residents to share ideas and answer questions like “is there a problem in your neighbourhood?” and “how can technology improve life in Campbell River?”

The deadline to submit ideas is April 2nd. You can share your thoughts at this website.
