Campbell River council backs emergency services petition

The City of Campbell River is getting behind a petition for increased emergency medical services in British Columbia.

The petition was been put forth by the B.C. Helicopter Emergency Rescue Operations Services. Council voted in favour of having Mayor Andy Adams sign the petition on the city’s behalf at Monday’s meeting.

The petition calls the current system “dysfunctional” with many “deadly shortcomings”. It says “unacceptably long” BCEHS response time combined with other issues lead to unnecessary deaths or permanent injuries.

The petition is open to anyone to sign.  You can find it here.
