Rash of ATV thefts and young offenders arrested

Campbell River RCMP say they are investigating about 10 thefts of ATVs, dirt bikes and boat motors that have happened in town in the past three weeks.

Staff Sergeant Troy Beauregard says this is number way higher than they are used to.

Beauregard says investigators believe the thefts are connected.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the tips in to the local detachment at 250-286-6211 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Local RCMP have found the people they believe are behind the recent break-ins on York Rd.

Staff Sergeant Tory Beauregard says they responded to a late night call on March 28th in the 4200 block of discovery drive. Officers found a break in had happened and called in support.

Beauregard says, one of the youths was already on conditions for offences and bound to a curfew. All three youth will be appearing in provincial court facing a number of charges.
