Rotary Club donation kicks Seawalk extension into high gear

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-The City of Campbell River says it’s going to move forward on extending the Seawalk.

The project would take the popular pathway through the vacant downtown waterfront site. That would fully connect the pathway along a 12 kilometre stretch.

The city says it’s able to move forward on the project thanks to a conditional $100,000 donation from the Rotary Club. The donation hinges on the city getting the project fully funded, finishing the design and starting construction this year, and ensuring the walkway fully connects Roberts Reach to Discovery Harbour.

The city says with time of the essence staff have already started on the project.
