It’s now definitely spring time and bears are going to be coming into local wooded areas looking for food.
Recently a mother bear and her cubs were spotted on the Pump House trail near Elk Falls.
Local conservation officer Gord Gudbranson says so far they have not gotten too many calls but does have this warning:
He reminds people to secure their garbage in a shed or garage and take down any bird feeders as bears like to eat bird seed. Gudbranson also asks that dog owners keep their pet on a leash at all times when out in the woods.
