Animal carcasses being found among items dumped along local logging roads

Illegal dumping off Campbell River logging roads is front and center again as people are finding not only household items and furniture but also animal carcasses among the garbage.

Bud Logan president of the Island Forest Stewards group says the animal carcasses are nothing new, it is something they have been seeing for awhile.

Logan says these carcasses are from bear, elk and deer. He adds many of them look to have been hunted legitimately but then not disposed of properly.

Logan says they recently came across a disturbing case.

The group is in touch with RCMP and the Report All Poachers and Polluters line, reporting both the carcasses and the household garbage and furniture that continues to be dumped in local forests.
