Coroner investigating death at the Campbell River library

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- A man has died from an overdose in Campbell River.

According to Campbell RCMP spokesperson Ron Vlooswyk, the 34 year old died from a drug overdose in the bathroom of the city’s library around 3:30 p.m. on April 18.

The BC Coroner Service has confirmed they are investigating the matter, and are early in their investigation.

At the time of the incident, there were around 15 onlookers near the library. Members of the Business Improvement Association were also nearby, on their way to a meeting at the facility.

“The ambulance just came and took him away.,” said Kyle Harry, who was at the scene and told 2Day FM he was a “good friend” of the victim.

“He didn’t make it.”

The name of the man has not yet been released.
