Upper Island Safety Conference coming to Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.-Campbell River is playing host to this year’s Upper Island Safety Conference.

The Strathcona Regional District say it’s excited to host the three-day event, which is the largest of its kind on the island.

There will be two keynote speakers, Darby Allen and Stuart Ellis-Myers. Allen is the former Fort McMurray Fire Chief. He’ll be discussing the 2015 wildfires. Ellis-Myers is a motivational speaker who’ll be talking about addiction and mental health issues in the workplace.

There will also be 25 exhibitors, educational sessions, and training opportunities. The conference is happening at Strathcona Gardens from May 28th to the 30th. You can find more details about it at the Strathcona Gardens website.
