Ravens go 1-1 during weekend stretch

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The season is rolling along for the Nyrstar Midget Ravens lacrosse team.

The young squad was in the Cowichan Valley on Saturday, and had a rough game. In total, there was 45 minutes of penalty time issued (27 for Cowichan, 18 for the Ravens). Final score was 9-1 for Cowichan. Kenny Sweet scored the lone goal for the Ravens.

Game two was a little bit better for the Campbell River-based team. They were at home against the Nanaimo Timbermen.

Goals were scored by Taylor Lysne, Wyatt Surgenor, Jas Thiara and two goals for Kenny Sweet. The Ravens beat the Timbermen 5-3.

Up next are two home games at Strathcona Gardens this Saturday and Sunday. Both games are scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
