CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C – RCMP closed Petersen Road between Old Petersen and the other side of Old Petersen for around five hours today.
Details are unclear on what was happening, however according to a Facebook post on the Campbell River Rant and Rave, RCMP had their guns out and shots were heard.
Two witnesses at the scene, residents of the closed area, said police told them they were not permitted to enter. Around 5:00 pm, a person present at the scene posted on the Rant and Rave saying police had said the area was “all clear”.
Traffic was being directed around Old Petersen Road.
Police have not commented on the incident at this time.
