Calgary forward commits to Storm for 2018-2019 season

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The Campbell River Storm have announced another off-season move ahead of the 2018-2019 VIJHL campaign.

18-year-old forward Tyson McLean will suit up for Campbell River after playing with the Calgary Midget AA Bruins (NWCAA) over the last two seasons.

With the team, he totalled 48 points. During the 2017/2018 season, he was an affiliate player with the Calgary Flames Midget AAA program of the AMHL and appeared in three games.

“Tyson is a hard working player who plays with great speed and thinks the game very well. His speed and hockey IQ are complemented by a willingness to play a gritty style around the front of the net, making him a very dynamic player,” read a press release from the team.

“Tyson’s work ethic and natural ability to make him an individual with a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing how far he can go this season.”

McLean will wear #12 for the Storm this coming season, which starts in September.
