CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The St. John Ambulance Brigades needs your help.

It’s looking for volunteers to help serve the community. The brigade is a group of trained uniformed volunteers who provide patient care at public events.

Some of these events include the upcoming Terry Fox Run and Logger Sports.

The adult brigade meets every Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and volunteers are trained to the Advanced Medical First Responder level.

Brigade Volunteers can assist with administration duties, public relations, event coordination and much more.

St. John Ambulance also has a cadet program that meets every Tuesday evening for ages 11 to 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The 11 to 15 year old cadets are trained to the First Aid Emergency Level and the Crusaders aged 16 to 17 are trained to a minimum Standard First Aid.

For further details on how to assist, visit the Campbell River St. John Ambulance branch at 170 Dogwood Street. Interested parties can also contact the Bridge Superintendent at [email protected].

There will also be a volunteer informational booth at a volunteer fair this Saturday at the Campbell River community centre from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
