New garbage truck for Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The City of Campbell River is taking out the trash.

At its most recent council meeting, the city stated that it will be purchasing a small waste hauling truck to replace an older 2003 vehicle.

The vehicle is being purchased from Rollins Machinery Ltd. It’s valued at $171,093.

The new truck will be used to collect trash from city parks, at bus stops and on downtown boulevards. It will also be used to help with public washroom cleanup.

The purchase is part of Campbell River’s ten-year fleet replacement program.
