Shelter services around town for the coming colder months

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Cold and rainy months are coming in and with the turning weather, the MyCampbellRiverNow.com newsroom reached out to several organizations around town that may offer shelter for those who might need it.

Some of the organizations did not get back to us before publication, but we will udpate this post as their responses become available.

Salvation Army (Evergreen Shelter and Housing, 690 Evergreen Road)

Evergreen Shelter and Housing has 22 beds available year-round. Starting on November 1st until March 31st, they will have six additional extreme weather beds.

When guests come in, an intake process will start and workers will wash dirty clothes and provide clean clothes for the night, as well as a hot meal. Breakfast will be provided in the morning.

For more information, visit Ocean Crest Community Church’s website.

Salvation Army (Lighthouse – Family Services, 1381 Cedar Street)

The Lighthouse resource centre offers day shelter, lunch, as well as emergency clothing for those who may need it. Laundry facilities are also available.
