Free bus rides to the polls on October 20th

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Campbell River transit is offering free bus rides to the polls this Saturday for residents who may need the wheels to get there. Transit rides will be free as long as the polls are open.

Residents can cast their ballot either at the Community Centre or the Sportsplex. Polls will be open from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.

Votes from the advanced polls on the 10th and the 17th will be tallied on Saturday evening, after the general election day votes are counted. Six city councillors will be selected from the nine candidates for a four-year term as part of Campbell River’s city council.

Andy Adams continues as the city’s mayor by acclamation.

To qualify to vote during the municipal election, a voter must be:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen
  • 18 years or older on election day
  • A BC resident at least 6 months before election day
  • A Campbell River resident at least 30 days before election day
