Comox Valley companion service coming to Campbell River

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Darren Cullum wants to bring the Comox Valley Care and Companions Club to Campbell River.

The club offers care and companion services to seniors, which include transportation to doctor’s appointments, various errands, home visits and help with meal preparations.

Cullum and his team are experienced and certified health care providers, and he said they can meet many needs, depending on what their clients indicate.

“Maybe we’ll go out for some coffee, lunch, depending on what’s going on in the community we could see if there’s a show of some sort on,” said Cullum.

He added that he wants to help as many people as possible, which is why he is trying to bring his care service to Campbell River. He does not have a set time on when the service will launch in Campbell River yet, but he hopes to get it off the ground as soon as possible.

“As of right now, we have a car and an SUV and a wheelchair van but I’m sharing that with Comox, so I’m looking to get another one.”

He hopes the service is well-received in Campbell River. More than anything though, Cullum said the point is to help Campbell River seniors who may be stuck at home, or the hospital or at a facility. He said he and his staff want to give them the chance to enjoy more of life.

“We want to give them those moments of joy that they deserve.”

Campbell River residents interested in an appointment, you can get in touch with Darren Cullum and his team by calling 250-465-8714 or through their Facebook page.
