CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The south breakwater walkway along the Big Rock Boat Ramp is closed due to storm damage.
According to an advisory from the city, waves and debris have compromised the walkway and made it unsafe.
Signage and barricades are in place, and the city is asking residents not to approach the area.
The advisory also stated the city is assessing the damage on the walkway and the breakwater. They are also considering plans for the area’s long-term protection.
The city will send updates as the next steps are determined.
