CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Phase 1 of the Jubilee Heights development is almost complete.
Couverdon Real Estate director of real estate development and sales Ross McKeever said Phase 1 is now at its tail end.
“We commenced construction of Phase 1 of the Jubilee Heights development in the late summer early fall of this year. We’re just coming to the end of our construction program, weather-dependent, of course,” said McKeever.
“We’re just completing what would be the asphalting and the concrete paving for the sidewalks.”
McKeever added they are getting ready to have the lots open so interested residents can see the development.
According to a release from Couverdon Real Estate, Jubilee Heights will be a complete community that will integrate mixed residential and commercial use. The plan is for Jubilee Heights to have amenities such as shopping, parks, and recreation.
Phase 1 will offer single family and duplex lots with three sites in south Campbell River.
McKeever said 28 single family lots went out into the market for pre-selling.
“It’s been a long planning process for the Jubilee Heights master plan community overall. We began the process back in 2008 with the city and we’ve been working with them to come up with a really good comprehensive plan for this neighbourhood in the south end of Campbell River.”
McKeever said the recent slide in real estate numbers is not a deterrent for Couverdon.
“But to really look at the effects on the local market, you have to look at the dynamics of the local market and look at what’s available in the Campbell River market… and there aren’t that many affordable single family lots available, especially in the south end of Campbell River.”
